The Importance of Business Insurance for Electrical Contractors

As an electrical contractor, you’re responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical systems, providing the connections that allow current to flow, powering the lights, appliances, and other devices people rely on every day.

Given the nature of your job, you may have to deal with a host of hazards on a daily basis, from electrocution to falling from ladders. What’s more, even minor slip-ups may have catastrophic consequences, and every time you are contracted to work in a domestic or commercial premises you run the risk of causing damage to the property, starting a fire, damaging a circuit, or causing injury or even death to the people within.

Your insurance can be built around your needs and typically will include protection for vehicles and plant, including items you hire in or loan out, loss or damage to your property, as well as materials on site.

It’s important to have the right business insurance in place so that should the unforeseen happen and you need to make a claim, you have the protection in place to get you back on track as quickly as possible and with minimal fuss.

DO YOU VISIT MY BUSINESS WHEN PROVIDING A QUOTATION?

In most instances there will no requirement to visit you in person to arrange a policy, as we discuss your requirements and the quotation over the phone. As both your requirements and insurers may change over time, quotes are only valid for a particular period of time, typically 30 days.
